An Indiana Collaboration

Vision: The vision for the new Indiana Career Explorer is to provide a tool that serves Hoosiers of all ages in their efforts to make more informed decisions about their own career choices and the education and/or training that will best fit their needs in attaining their career goals. For job seekers, we wish the tool to connect Hoosiers to in-demand and available jobs and for the job seeker to be able to easily find those jobs, both locally, regionally, and statewide. In the past, state agencies and organizations have not necessarily worked together to provide a unified and easily navigable set of services to Hoosiers. Rather, there is widespread duplication of both services and tools.

For the new Indiana Career Explorer, representatives from numerous state agencies and organizations have come together to launch this new tool. Participating agencies and organizations include the Department of Workforce Development (DWD), the Commission for Higher Education (CHE), Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University (VU), the Department of Education (IDOE) and the Family Social Services Administration (FSSA). And so, whether the user be a middle school student, a high school senior, a community college enrollee, an adult seeking a new job, or a displaced worker, the new Indiana Career Explorer is for that user to easily be able to log in and to intuitively navigate the appropriate path and to the appropriate resources to make informed career and training decisions.
