Instructor is a MSSC authorized instructor and will possess the credential earned in the training program, as well as 5 years of work experience in the field.
The CPT program is a blend of instructor-led and online training developed by industry professionals and based upon nationally validated standards. The training covers safety, quality, communication, processes, maintenance, and teamwork. Successful students will demonstrate mastery of the core manufacturing competencies (technical, academic, and employability) of front-line workers and supervisors. Also, they will be prepared for employment in advanced manufacturing, entry level and higher, and on a pathway to an Industrial Manufacturing Technician, a DOL approved registered apprenticeship program. The CPT certification crosswalks to six academic credits when enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College. Class time includes lecture, discussion and Q&A. The length of the course may vary depending on part-time or full-time enrollment (4 to 20 weeks). Students are given a schedule that includes the module(s), class dates/times, topics to study prior to class, and test-prep reviews. Costs for assessment preparation, assessments, and one retake is included, if needed. Available in English or Spanish.
Recommended: Silver National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), WIN Level 3 in Math and Reading or the equivalent of a 9th grade reading and math level.
