The Behavioral Health Support Specialist course will teach the students to assist counselors, therapist, social workers and pyschoeducation instructors.The students will learn how to support to the patients with their treatment plans. They will learn how to assist the patients with performance in academic, social and behavior skills. They will learn the importance in shaping the patients behavior through positive reinforcement, redirection and other strategies.The students will learn about established techniques and procedures that provide positive behavior intervention. They will learn how to assist personnel reinforcing instruction to individuals and small groups. The students will learn how to collect, maintain, record data and perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks.
