The program faculty must a licensed Paramedic and a certified Primary Instructor both by the state of Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
Franciscan Health Indianapolis, accredited by HCAC, has provided paramedic education since the early 1990’s. The program meets or exceeds all standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Transportation, State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Emergency Physicians, and American Heart Association. The Franciscan Health Indianapolis Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
Active EMT Certification
Applications that are competedand pass the background are moved to the next step in the application. The applicant will be scheduled for an entrance exam that tests their EMT knowledge and a formal interview.We sit 24 students in each cohort.
Scholarships are available for persons who: successfully completed EMT class at Franciscan Health Indianapolis work full-time or part-time for Franciscan Health work full-time for any of our affiliated provider organizations or our field precepting sites are recommended by the EMT program faculty (limit to one recommendation/year) from one of our partnered EMT programs in the areaOnly one scholarshipis allowed per student. Documentation of eligibility is required.Even if an employer or another 3rd party will be contributing to the payment of some or all the tuition, timely payment and ALL correspondence (invoices, grades, disciplinary actions, etc.) will remain the student’s sole responsibility. Students utilizing funds from a 3rd party payer must have a disclosure form on file allowing for the sharing of student records and information or a written statement from the payer acknowledging their lack of access to such.
