The minimum credentials held by program faculty is minimum 2 years working in the field of EKG, certified in the technical skill, minimum 2 year degree program and high school diploma. Minimum of 21 years of age and cerified to teach allied health programs.
The electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) represents the summary of electrical events taking place in the heart. Electrodes, adhesive patches placed on the chest and attached to wires, sense the electrical activity in the heart and transform it to a digital signal which is displayed on the EKG monitor. Gifted Hands Academy Allied Health School is offering a Accellerated Advanced EKG program designed to help you pass the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam through the NHA and set you up for success as part of a fast-paced cardiology team. This program is an 10week program consisting of 42 classroom hours, 12 clinical hours, and 8 hours for BLS American Red Cross Certification. This course is a total of 62 hours During this time, we will assist you with preparation for the NHA exam and you will learn how to operate the electrocardiogram, and successfully interpret and read a EKG strips.
Students must apply minimally 4 weeks prior to the course start date and be prepared to complete enrollment.
