Classroom instructors hold a license in Registered Nursing (ASN/BSN).Practicum instructors hold a license in Registered Nurse (ASN/BSN) or LPN/LVN.
Classroom instruction includes but is not limited to the following: The role and responsibility of the QMA, legal and ethical issues, resident rights, anatomy and physiology, diseases and disorders, obtaining vital signs, medication preparation and administration within the QMA scope of practice,observing and reporting adverse reactions to medications, infection control and safety procedures. QMA's are in great demand in Indianapolis and throughout the surrounding areas. QMA's are utilized in wide variety of healthcare settings such as corrections, long-term care/rehabilitation facilities, adult day care centers assisted living facilities. Job placement is readily available post program completion.
Individuals must be in good standing as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) on the Indiana Aide Registry. Individuals must have worked a minimum of 1,000 hours as a CNA within the last 24 months. Individual must have BLS CPR (American Heart Association), physical and two-step PPD within 6 months, at time of enrollment.
Students are accepted up to the first day of class.
