RN with 25 years long term care experience, certified by IUPUI to teach QMA students, approved by ISDH (Indiana State Dept of Health) to teach the QMA program.
Classes are one day a week for 8 weeks ONLINE CST. First class/registration 9am at Med Ed Merrillville classroom; QMA curriculum online done at students' availability. Class must be finished 8 weeks after starting. Students come to Med Ed classroom for procedures and final exam class 8. The curriculum is from Indiana QMA manual and will be drop boxed to students. Students must pass final exam on class 8 with 75% in order to continue onto clinicals which is 45 hours passing medications next to a nurse watching while passing meds. Students will learn meds, what they are for, and what side effects to look for. Includes basic anatomy and how medications effect every body system.
CNA with 1000 hrs work experience, Long Term Care or Assisted Living experience, HS Diploma or GED, 18 yrs old, no findings on CNA license, No felony past 5 years.
Classes 4 x year, apply one week before new class starts.
