Instructors have journeyman or technician level (of at least four years) in their area of expertise or have a minimum of three years experience as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance related field. Their skill level is journeyman or above and must be certified as a Master Trainer through NCCER board of trustees.
This training utilizes a nationally-recognized construction curriculum and brings in industry professionals to every class to help students develop confidence for construction careers. The curriculum is developed by the National Center for Construction Educations and Research (NCCER.) The Core Curriculum provides hands onskills instruction, safety procedures, as well as adult education and college and career readiness standards. This course teaches the basic fundamentals of construction: basic safety, introduction to construction math, introduction to hand and power tools, introduction to construction drawings, basic rigging, basic communication, and employability skills.
Must be over 18. Must comply and pass a drug screening test. Must have HSED, HSD or in process.
