Related areas covered are tool and equipment safety, theory of welding process, corrective actions on identified welding problems, operations of metal shop equipment. Hands on activities include Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Includes instruction in SMAW (Stick) and GMAW (MIG)welding, cutting, welding processes and heat treating, safety and applicable codes and standards.
The focus of this course is to beable to weld pipe sloped at approximately 45 degree from the horizontal X axis or 45 degree from the vertical Y axis in a fixed position.
This course is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to those who have some training and wish to achieve high skill levels for sheet metal and structural plate certifications. Using the American Welding Society SENSE program, students are trained using knowledge-based assessments, workmanship sample procedures, and Performance Qualification Tests to earn a SENSE credential.Welding emphasizes hands-on learning for adult students to become skilled in structural welding with the use of SMAW/stick (shield metal arc welding), GMAW/MIG (gas metal arcwelding), and GTAW/TIG (gas tungsten arc welding). Personalized instruction allows for accommodation of all skills. Typically, a SENSE Level 1: Entry Welder Certification (MIG) can be obtainedby attending 1- 12 week session. Related areas covered include tool and equipment safety, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, and proper grinding techniques.Basic safety equipment and tools (welding helmet, fire resistant welding jacket, MIG/stickgloves, TIG gloves, safety glasses, ratchet headgear with clear and green face shields, weldingpliers) are required to participate. Students must wear jeans, a long sleeved shirt amp; leather shoes or boots.
This intensive one-year program is designed to prepare graduates for gainful employment in the welding field. Emphasis is placed on preparation for AWS (American Welding Society) Certification. Students are trained in OAW (Oxygen Acetylene Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding, GMAW (Gas Metal arc Welding), and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). plasma arc cutting, oxyacetylene cutting, air carbon arc gouging, and blueprint reading are also covered.
This comprehensive two-year A.S. program is designed to prepare students for a career in the advanced welding profession, with the opportunity to transfer to a baccalaureate program. Major emphasis is placed on the preparation for American Welding Society Certification. Students are trained in OAW (Oxygen Acetylene Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding, GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). Plasma arc cutting, oxyacetylene cutting, air carbon arc gouging, and print reading are covered. Advanced inspection and fabrication methods, along with automation are covered to achieve the extensive discipline demanded within the welding profession.
Students will attend class 7 weeks at Turning Point Education Center as well as participate in hands-on training at Wagler Events located 4 miles from our classroom. Students will learn Metal Arc Welding and will gain the necessary skills to pass the Horizontal, Vertical, and Flat level Certifiation Exam. Students will enter employment into the welding field. Students that obtain their certification will tour both of our welding partner facilities and decide which one to interview with or both.

This class is similiar to the Word, Excel PowerPoint bundle, but it also includes Windows training. Most students don#39;t feel comfortable working in Windows so this class starts of by teaching the basics. Topics include: Parts of the screen, customizing, working with File Explorer, creating files, and folders, cut-copy-paste, moving around, CTRL key, SHIFT key, CTRL + A, plus a few more. By the end of this class, you will have 3 certifications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The Word portion introduces the student to the WORD desktop and its parts, how to create and navigate through a document, save it, print it and enhance it. Enhance it by learning bold, italic, font face changes, font size changes, text color changes, underline and more. You will learn how to use the Autocorrect, spell checker, insert bullets, and insert special characters, line and page formatting features, plus many more topics. A must class for the beginner. At the end of this class, you will take 1 exam and become MOS Word certified! The second class is an EXCEL certification class. Topics include: Moving around, formulas, functions, formatting, printing, inserting/deleting rowamp;columns, sorting, filtering, graphics plus a whole lot more. At the end of the Excel class, you will take 1 exam and become MOS Excel certified. The third part is PowerPoint. This class begins with the basics of PowerPoint from using the auto-content wizard, adding new slides, using the slide layouts and using the different views.
